5. The SSS 10 Level System

Our methodology has been tested and honed over several years. Each level has "stepping stone" benchmarks so students and parents can know where the student is in their development.

The blueprint is exclusive to the Sešek String Studio, and uses systems passed from Luka's father, violin professor of over 40 years in Europe, Armin Sešek.

The violin and viola take a lifetime to master, but a solid foundation coupled with a precise course of study, can achieve lovely results in less time.

6. PRIZES and CASH to celebrate achievements!

Milestones should be celebrated!  As a part of our 10 level system, students earn prizes for benchmark achievements and level achievements.

Cash prizes for excellent recital performances roll throughout the year.

Our most coveted prize is our annual STUDENT OF THE YEAR PRIZE awarded every year.

The winner gets a sizable cash prize and serious bragging rights!

7. A fun and warm approach

While the studio focuses on learning the violin or viola well, we also like to have fun! Lessons are engaging with lots of laughs!

Young students can count on "Ms. Amber" to make many funny faces and use her vocal talents (she has LOTS of different voices), to keep little ones coming back for more. Mr. Luka's quick quips and talent for using a hilarious form of "reverse psychology" keeps all the students on their toes.

The students of the studio can vouch for the instructors' sense of humor.  ;)

8. Focus on a total music education

As part of the curriculum, students learn new skills from day one including music theory, critical thinking, history, music terms in new languages, and body mechanics.

Students who want to be fluent in the language of music have the option of adding music theory with Dr. Archibald-Sešek as a separate lesson, therefore learning the material much faster than in group study. Dr. Archibald has 14 years of music theory teaching experience, 8 of those at Seattle University.

Students may also prepare for internationally standardized music theory exams including the Royal Conservatory of Music and ABRSM exams as well as take lessons for college entrance exams.

9. A robust community

Our students and parents are truly the best!  You can count on a supportive community  in the Sešek String Studio.

Events include concerts, regular studio classes, an annual picnic as well as supporting our students in their school and youth orchestra programs.

Our students both young and seasoned benefit from interaction with the other violinists and violists of the studio. Those interactions foster new friendships, healthy competition, and cross-pollination learning.  Everyone wins!

10. Weekday and weekend lessons

Convenient lesson schedules Tuesday-Friday 2:00PM-10:00PM and Saturday from 9:30AM-5:30PM.

We can also accommodate earlier lesson times on weekdays for younger students, homeschoolers, retirees, or flexible working professionals.

11. In person or online

With our studio being exclusive, you do not have to worry about hundreds of hands touching common items. Since we teach only a handful of students a day (some online and some in person) your exposure to risk is minimal.

Feel good knowing that you can learn in our studios at home and get the best education. Your comfort is of the utmost importance.

Are you ready to start YOUR incredible journey?

Several of our students have used the violin or viola to help fund their college dreams and often receive large merit and talent scholarships. In 2021, a student received $49,000 a year in scholarships to the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. That is almost $200,000 in aid over 4 years!
